Terms & Conditions

Effective Date:  |  Last Updated:

By accessing or using SnippKit, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

SnippKit is a developer-focused code snippet management, command cataloging, and script sharing platform. You may use the platform to organize and share code snippets publicly or privately subject to these Terms.

1. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 13 years of age to register an account. Accounts are created and authenticated via Clerk. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity occurring under your account.

2. Acceptable Use & Community Guidelines

You agree to use SnippKit responsibly. Prohibited activities include:

  • Malware & Exploits: Uploading executable malware, ransomware, dangerous exploits, or phishing scripts.
  • Credential Exposure: Publishing production API keys, database connection strings, passwords, or private SSH keys in public snippets.
  • Copyright Infringement: Uploading proprietary source code without proper authorization.
  • Spam & Harassment: Distributing commercial spam or engaging in abusive behavior toward other developers.
  • Platform Abuse: Attempting to reverse engineer, bypass authorization controls, or disrupt system infrastructure.

3. Usage Limits & Storage Quotas

SnippKit operates a storage-based quota system. Your chosen plan determines the amount of storage available to your account. If your storage exceeds your plan limit, creating new snippets will be restricted until space is freed up or your plan is upgraded.

Note: Snippet storage usage is estimated assuming an average size of ~2KB per Snipp/Prompt, but actual usage may vary based on content depth and file attachments. Pro Plus users may optionally purchase additional monthly storage add-ons via our Pricing page.

4. Abuse Throttling

To protect system health, SnippKit uses automated rate-limiting and anti-abuse mechanisms (including Upstash Redis limiters). Accounts or IP addresses exceeding usage limits or exhibiting spam patterns may be throttled or suspended.

5. Code Ownership & Intellectual Property

You retain 100% ownership and intellectual property rights to all code snippets, scripts, prompts, and content you create or upload on SnippKit.

Private content remains confidential and encrypted. By publishing content as Public, you grant SnippKit a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, format, display, and index your snippet across public feeds and search tools.

6. AI Transparency & AI-Generated Content

AI features (such as Sidr AI, code explanation, and OCR) generate output using third-party artificial intelligence models. AI-generated code is provided "as-is" and may contain syntax errors, bugs, or security flaws.

You are solely responsible for reviewing, auditing, testing, and validating any AI-generated code before executing it or deploying it to production.

7. DMCA & Copyright Takedown Policy

If you believe your copyrighted code or material has been posted without authorization, submit a written DMCA notice to our designated contact email containing the copyrighted work description, exact URL, and your contact information.
