Collections & Access
Collections & Access in SnippKit allows engineering teams to group code snippets, command playbooks, and shell scripts into dedicated, access-controlled repositories.
By attaching collections to sub-teams, organization admins can grant targeted code access to specific development groups while keeping confidential routines private.
Overview
In large engineering organizations, developers need structured access to specific code repositories without being overwhelmed by unrelated snippets from other departments.
SnippKit’s Collections workspace (/org/collections) enables team-level code sharing with customizable access visibility (Public vs Private), dual layout views (Grid and List), and live member avatar stacks.
Direct App Shortcut
Manage your shared team repositories anytime at Collections & Access (
/org/collections).What you can do
With Collections & Access, you can:
- Create Shared Repositories: Group related code snippets and commands into named collections.
- Attach Sub-Teams: Link collections directly to team policy groups (e.g., Frontend Devs, DevOps).
- Public vs Private Visibility: Toggle whether collections are open to the organization or restricted to team members.
- Member Avatar Stacks: View live profile avatars of team members with access permissions.
- Dual Layout Views: Toggle between visual Grid View and compact List View.
- Search & Sorting: Filter collections by type (All, Mine, Public, Private) and sort by Newest, Oldest, or Alphabetical.
Visibility & Access Matrix
| Visibility Mode | Access Scope | RBAC Enforcement |
|---|---|---|
| Public Collection | Discoverable and readable by all members of the organization. | All members have read access; only collection owners or team Editors/Admins can modify content. |
| Private Collection | Restricted strictly to members of attached sub-teams and organization owners. | Permissions strictly match attached team policy roles (Admin, Editor, Viewer). |
